June 21, 2003:
I work with Department of
Children’s Services and do
part-time work for Tennessee
Commission on Children and
Youth. I’ve been married 36
years to Ted who is now retired
but starting another business.
Two children: Beth, age 31 (RN
and lives in Knoxville with
husband and son and another one
on the way); John, age 26 (audio
producer at Channel 13, Memphis,
Fox News Network). John is
married (last August) to Cynthia
Barton of Cordova where they
live. Cindy is a dental
hygienist, no children, and 1
cat. Beth works in the “cath
lab” at Parkwest Hospital in
Knoxville. Her husband, Chris
Rhodes, is director of
environmental services there.
They would like to move to West
Tennessee!
Our grandchild, Nicholas
Todd Rhodes, will be 2 in
April. He’s the smartest,
cutest, BEST grandchild—very
loved!!
Every time I say I’m going to retire I get offered an easier
job to stay—Ha! So don’t know
when I will retire. Am
beginning my 36th
year with foster care and
adoptions (Department of
Children’s Services).
The best friend I’ve ever
had is my husband of 36 plus
years. Life has been good. I
beat the odds at age 8 when I
was given less than 6 months to
live and everything since has
been one blessing after
another. God is good—all the
time.
Hobbies: Genealogy, gardening, crafts. Love and Happy
Memories to All.
April 7, 2008:
I will not be able to attend
this year's reunion however
I wish to thank everyone who
has worked hard on the
reunion and the website. I
hope the website will
continue after the reunion
as a means for everyone to
keep in touch. Thanks,
Glenn, for the excellent
work. I've enjoyed checking
in on the updates
frequently.
I retired last fall from the
TN Dept. of Children's
Services after 41+ years.
Funny, I found they could do
without me and I could do
without them .. ha. We still
live in the first home we
built during our first year
of marriage. Forty one plus
years, two children and two
grandchildren later, we
still call it home. Several
years ago I realized that
I'd lived in my dream house
longer than all the other
places in my lifetime. I
hope I can finish out my
life here.
Our daughter Beth Rhodes is
still in Knoxville, is a RN
in the cath lab at Baptist.
She has Nicholas who is 7
today, as I write this, and
Natalie who was 4 last
November. She and Chris, our
son-in-law, are doing a
great job as parents with
these two very bright and
active children. Our son
John is still audio producer
at Fox News (Channel 13) in
Memphis. He lives in Cordova
with his new bride of two
weeks, Becky Schirato. Hopefully there will be more grandchildren in the future.
My husband Ted suffered a
massive heart attack in July
2004, but God wasn't through
with him yet. Thankfully he
survived, and with the
watchful care of our
daughter monitoring his
health and getting him to
her cardiologists in
Knoxville, he is able to
continue a few of his
favorite activities. He is
still able to fish and is on
Kentucky and surrounding
lakes as often as the
weather permits.
I am enjoying my retirement. As someone once said, it is so
nice to wake up and not have
to go to work that I do it
several times a day! I have
a routine of exercise first
thing each morning and then
spend the rest of the time
on hobbies and catching up
on all the things I
put aside during the
last few years I
worked. And
those of you who
really know me,
you'll never believe
that I now have a
little house dog,
"Sugar", a shih-tzu
puppy, Ted gave him
to me last
Christmas. A house
dog is the last
thing everyone
expected me to have! We have enjoyed him
this winter and now
I wonder how we got
along without him.
I do hope everyone will continue to keep in touch after the
reunion through the
website. If you are
ever in Paris/Henry
County, TN give me a
buzz. I'm attaching
the last picture Ted
and I had made at
our church Valentine
banquet this year. I'm anxious to see
more pictures and
hear the latest from
others in the class
of 1963!! Best
wishes to all. |

After living in Memphis forever,
we moved to Ripley, MS in July
of 1999. It was a complete
change of pace and we love it.
Our house was built in 1898 so
we’ve kind of stepped back in
time.
We’ve had several additions
to our family. We now have four
grandchildren: two boys and two
girls; same husband, Larry. |

June 21, 2003:
I have been married for 38
wonderful years to Debbie Trull
(Kingsbury Class of ’64). We
have a wonderful daughter,
Kimberly (along with a
son-in-law, John), and the most
precious granddaughter,
Jessica, you could ever hope
for. I truly believe Bill Cosby
when he says, “Grandchildren are
your reward for not killing your
children.”
We spent 4 years in Riverside, California while I was in the
Air Force stationed at March
AFB, California with the 486th
Bombardment Squadron. During
that time I spent 8 months
overseas in support of the Viet
Nam conflict.
After discharge from the Air
Force, we moved back to Memphis
for about 2 years when an
opportunity took us to Smyrna,
Tennessee. We were there for
about 10 years where our
daughter was born on December
25, 1974. We returned to
Memphis in 1981 due to a job
transfer and remained about 3
years before my job took us to
Dallas, Texas.
After a year in Texas (it
didn’t take my wife and daughter
long to get enough of Texas), we
again returned to Memphis for
about a year. Another career
opportunity took us to
Indianapolis for the next 10
years.
We moved back to Middle
Tennessee in 1995, due partly to
our daughter being at David
Lipscomb University and
informing us she was not coming
back to Indianapolis after
graduation, and once again we
settled in Smyrna. We hope we
are here for the duration.
Fortunately, the granddaughter
only lives about 4 miles from
us.
I spend most of my free
time involved with family,
especially with the
granddaughter. The rest of my
time is devoted to church work
as I serve as the Deacon of
Finance for the Highland Heights
Church of Christ in Smyrna.
April 24, 2008:
Since my last update in
2003, God has blessed us
with yet another
grandchild. Jakob
Thomas was born in August of
2004. He and his sister,
Jessica, bring much joy and
happiness to us. We are so
very fortunate that they
only live about 5 minutes
from our house.
Debbie and I have just
celebrated our 43rd wedding
anniversary this month and
look forward to another 43
years together.
We have now been back in
Smyrna for almost 13 years.
I have transitioned from the
telecommunication industry
(which has gone through many
major changes) to Controller
and Office Manager for a
family owned business.
I still spend my free time
with the grandchildren
(trying to keep up with two
soccer schedules at this
time of the year). We
continue to work in the
church and I was appointed
an Elder in October 2005.
We look forward to the reunion to renew old friendships and
catch up on the families of
all my classmates.

June 21, 2003:
I retired from the workforce a
few years ago after many years
as an executive assistant. I’m
really enjoying staying home and
keeping my grandchildren while
their parents work. Cade will
be four in July and his little
sister, Caelan, turned one in
April. They belong to my son,
Michael Brigance and wife,
Sharon. We also have two other
grandchildren by Bob’s daughter,
Rhonda Fussell. Nichole is
sixteen and Jonathan is almost
fifteen.
My hobbies are sewing and
ballroom dancing. Bob enjoys
bowling, golf, ballroom dancing
and coaching youth sports at our
church. We also enjoy
traveling whenever we get a
chance. We’re looking forward
to a cruise to the Caribbean in
June. Unfortunately, it will
cause me to miss the reunion.
I know it will be fun to see
everyone after 40 years. Can
you believe it? 40 years! Sure
makes us sound old! I’m sorry
to miss out on all the fun. I
wish all of you a wonderful
reunion. Maybe I’ll get to see
you at the 50th.
May 6, 2008:
We still reside in Bartlett
where we have lived for the last
21 years. I’m still retired
and loving every minute of it.
My husband, Bob, left retirement
a couple of years ago to enter
the real estate business.
Although it’s a challenge right
now, he really enjoys it. We’re
very active in our church and I
do some volunteer work.
Since my last profile update, God has blessed us with another
wonderful grandson. Dawson is
now four years old. His
brother, Cade is almost nine and
sister, Caelan, just turned
six. They belong to my son,
Michael, and daughter-in-law,
Sharon. They live right around
the corner from us and we just
love having them nearby. I
love being “Mamaw” and thank God
every day for blessing us with
these little sweethearts.
We were also blessed with a great-grandson in March of this
year. His name is Christian and
his mother is Nichole, our
granddaughter. Nichole’s mother
is Rhonda (Bob’s daughter) who
lives in Olive Branch, MS, with
husband, Danny and son,
Jonathan.
I am truly looking forward to our reunion. It’s hard to
believe 45 years have passed
since we graduated KHS. At that
time, I thought we’d be really
old by now. Just goes to show
you what a 17 year old knows!!
See you at the reunion! |

April 29, 2008:
Hello classmates, hard to
believe it's been 45 years.
My how time flies. I have
been married to Richard
Wilson (Messick grad. 1960)
for 42 years, May 6th. We
have lived in southeast
Memphis in the Quince/White
Station area for 34 years.
We met at a wedding where he
was best man and I poured
punch at the reception. A
year after we married, we
had a son whom we named
John, and almost six years
later had a daughter we
named Lori. We lost our son
in 1979 in a bicycle/car
accident. He was eleven at
the time. Our daughter is
married now and has three
children. Cody is 13,
Madison is 5, and Nick is
3. We enjoy them so much.
I went to work right out of
high school at an insurance
office. Since that time, I
have worked at United Paint
Co., Dobbs Food Service,
Union Planters Bank (now
Regions) and for the last
fourteen years with the
Shelby County Board of Ed.
in the Food Nutrition
Service department. I am
currently at Bartlett High
school and love it here.
I worked with children and
preschoolers at Highland
Heights Baptist Church for
forty years. I decided last
year it was time to let
someone younger take over.
I do miss it though.
I enjoy working in my yard,
keeping the grandkids, and
scrap-booking. Once a month
a group of ladies come over,
and we have a wonderful
person who comes up with the
most fabulous ideas for
beautiful layout pages for
scrap-booking.
Other than our sad loss, I
can say God has been truly
good to us and blessed us in
so many ways. I thank Him
everyday for giving Richard
to me. I wouldn't trade him
for a moon pie and RC cola.
That's about it.

June 21, 2003:
I now live in
Southern California with “Mr.

Inc., the number 1 producer of
mesh bags in the U. S.
Fortunately, Pacon made it
possible for me to stay home
with our children, John and Dee
Dee. Our children couldn’t have
chosen a better son and
daughter-in-law. The kids have
given us two granddaughters and
one grandson. We’re blessed
with a very close, fun family.
May 6, 2008:
Since the last update Frank
has sold his business
and we decided to travel.
We have been somewhere new
almost every month for two
years now. Some long trips
and some close to home.
We have five grandchildren
that keep us very busy when
we are home. Our
family is doing well.
Everyone seems to be happy.
Frank and I are really
enjoying our life. We
count our blessings.
Sorry we won't be with you
this reunion, hopefully the
next.

My husband, Jesse, and I have
six children and thirteen
grandchildren. We live in
Germantown and have for the past
22 years. We still own and
operate McClerkin Motors, Inc.
We have a home in Florida that
we spend as much time as
possible. We teach a couple’s
class at Bellevue Baptist
Church. We love working with
this class. I sew and smock for
my granddaughters. I’m still
active in politics. I co-host
the Conservative Voice radio
program on WCRV. I love
babysitting my grandchildren and
enjoy traveling with them. I
will miss the reunion because
I’ll be in Chicago with two of
my granddaughters. I still love
sports and am now attending my
grandsons’ and granddaughters’
ball games.
We have season tickets to
Redbirds and University of
Memphis basketball. Life has
not been without difficulty but
I’m grateful for the way God has
blessed me. I only wish I had
served Him earlier in my life.
May 12, 2008:
I am still helping my husband at McClerkin Motors and active
in politics. We have 16
grandchildren. They keep us
very busy and we love every
minute of it. I still do the
radio program on Christian radio
called The Conservative Voice
and we teach a Sunday School
Class at Germantown Baptist
Church. We have a home in
Florida and try to escape there
as often as possible.
Everything is not perfect but
God has been good and we are
grateful for God’s blessings. I
will miss seeing all of you but
I will be in Israel on the night
of the reunion.

Nine years ago we
bought a small farm in Hopkins

changed. I had been working in

ended. I became a poultry
farmer. For 7 ½ years, my
husband and I have operated
Pontiac Pullets. We raise
pullets for Tyson Foods
(approximately 25,000 birds per
flock). I take care of the
day-to-day work on the farm. My

have an opportunity to get away,
we visit our daughter, Maneesa.
She graduated from Florida State

Whenever possible, we travel to
